As you’d expect, Bangkok is a great place to get clothes altered.
The city is dotted with tailors. Granted, many of these tailors will not be keen on performing clothing alterations – or even work on women’s clothing – but others, including Mister Singh’s, do perform alterations. We’ve got decades of experience in producing high-quality clothing and in repairing and altering clothes as well.
There are a number of ways a tailor can alter your clothes, whether it’s to get a zipper replaced, a tear mended, sleeves shortened, a button sewn, a buttonhole added, etc. This is irrespective of the type of clothing – although again, it’s worth keeping in mind that not all tailors will be willing to work on fabrics like denim, leather or latex. Some of those willing may have limited experience, so it’s important to choose the right tailor shop to have your clothes altered at.
Keep in mind that tailors can’t fix everything. It is possible for there to be irreversible damage to a suit, for example. Regardless, it’s worth seeking the advice of a tailor before discarding a seemingly damaged garment. Even if the damage is indeed irreversible, you may be able to get said garment replicated in the same style and from a similar fabric. This is especially helpful if you have a suit or dress that you favour over other suits/dresses.
